Absolutely, we all dream of that serene Himachal vacation, don't we? Picture this: You've been longing to escape to the Himalayas, to bask in the breathtaking views and soak in the crisp mountain air. You plan your trip with these idyllic expectations, eagerly anticipating a peaceful rendezvous with nature. But then, reality hits hard. Instead of tranquility, you find yourself stuck in never-ending traffic, and when you finally reach your destination, you're greeted by a bustling hotel filled with throngs of people. It's like being surrounded by mountains, but there's just a little too much human hustle and bustle for your liking. The disappointment is real, isn't it?

How to avoid this chaos, and truly spend a peaceful vacation in Himachal?

1. Explore Offbeat Locations: Instead of popular tourist hubs, consider exploring lesser-known, offbeat locations in Himachal, for tranquility and a deeper connection with nature

2. Opt for homestays with limited guest rooms. They offer an intimate setting and a more personalized experience

3. Plan Local Experiences:. Before your trip, reach out to your chosen homestay and ask them to help plan visits to nearby destinations. The hosts, being locals, often have insider knowledge of hidden treasures that tourists might miss.

Staying in a homestay can be a totally different experience than staying in a hotel or a resort. Other than the basic facilities of a safe stay, clean and hygienic rooms, ensuite bathroom with hot water supply, Wi-Fi for people who would like to work from home, etc, in this blog, we'll walk you through why you should choose a homestay for a more fulfilling experience.

1. Warm Hospitality: It is going to be a very personal experience because you are not just booking a room, you are stepping into your home away from home. We are going to welcome you not only into our home but also into a part of our life. Expect heartfelt smiles, cups of steaming chai, and genuine conversations that give you a glimpse into the rich culture of Himachal.

2. Cultural Immersion: Living in a homestay allows you to immerse yourself in the local culture. You get to know about our traditional activities, such as folk dance, and music and learn about our customs through multiple storytelling sessions. Since you will be in Devbhoomi, folk tales about Devi/Devtas will surely be a topic of interest.

3. Spectacular View: Each homestay has its own story of existence. Our homestay was meant to be an orchard stay for our family to maintain our 80-year-old apple orchards. Our home is located in our apple orchard, which is on the outskirts of the Village Ranot at an elevation of 7000ft. When you stay at our home, you will be surrounded by apple orchards, pine trees, and mountain peaks. The sunset view from here is spectacular. Not to boast but our village has amazing sunrise and sunset views. Lucky us!

4. Peace and Tranquility: If you're seeking solace and serenity, a homestay in Himachal is your sanctuary. Far from the chaos of city life, you can enjoy the quietude interrupted only by the gentle rustling of leaves and the occasional bird's song. Perfect for simply unwinding. PS- the sound of deodar psithurism is meditative and refreshing, don’t miss to notice it when here.

5. Local Cuisine: One of the highlights of staying in a homestay is the opportunity to savour authentic Himachali cuisine. From mouthwatering dishes like Poldu, Bade, and Siddu to piping hot parathas served with local pickles, your taste buds are in for a treat. Don't forget to have the famous Shimla apple in the land of apples!

6. Visit offbeat destinations: The locals know it the best. Period. There are so many beautiful places that we have been frequenting for a quick getaway with friends or family. A hidden waterfall, a drive through the dense forest of a wildlife sanctuary, a trek to the hilltop temple, breathing in the fresh mountain air, and reaching panoramic viewpoints that always left us speechless, a visit to the famous temple whose stories always kept us engaged, we have been doing this all. And now we can take you there to create your own memorable moments.

Choosing a homestay in Himachal Pradesh promises a wholesome experience that goes beyond a typical hotel stay. So, pack your bags, head to Himachal, and make memories that will last a lifetime. The mountains are calling, and your homestay experience awaits!
